Host Family Program
Students are eligible for homestay if entering grade 8 or above. Grade 8 students will be carefully screened to show they have the academic and social potential to be successful in our programs. Students below grade 8 may enrol in our program provided he or she lives with a parent or another adult family member.
Academic success is frequently connected to a student’s family environment.
- International students stay with carefully screened families
- Families are chosen based on their ability to provide a warm and supportive home setting.
- Host parents are selected for their willingness to treat each visiting student as they would their own child.
- Host parents will encourage and assist students to become involved in school and community activities.
- Families are given an extensive orientation in order to ensure their knowledge of cultural diversity.
The International Program Staff are available to assist all students and families over the duration of the student’s stay.
The parents of visiting students can feel confident that their children will be well cared for in a comfortable and safe environment.
