Principal’s Message

Thank you for your interest in the Comox Valley International Student Program. Comox Valley schools is committed to providing you with an educational and cultural experience that will more than meet all of your expectations. Choosing to study in the Comox Valley is choosing to live in one of Canada’s most beautiful and desirable destinations. Located on the oceanfront on Vancouver Island, the Comox Valley has the mildest climate in the country, with cool, wet winters and warm, mild summers. Against the backdrop of the Beaufort mountain range and the Comox Glacier you see in our logo, the Comox Valley is also minutes away from some of the best skiing in Western Canada at Mount Washington Alpine Resort.

The Comox Valley is a predominantly English-speaking community, with over 98% of our residents speaking English as their first language. This, coupled with the robust educational programs in our schools, means that you will greatly enhance your proficiency in English language usage.  Students in the Comox Valley International Student Program enjoy a rich academic experience as well as some of the best social and recreational activities in Canada. Whether it be watching whales jump in our harbours, snowboarding on Mt. Washington, golfing at one of our many courses, or watersports on our many lakes and rivers, the Comox Valley provides an almost limitless number of activities for students to take part in during their stay here.

We look forward to your arrival in the Comox Valley. As a smaller school district, we pride ourselves on offering personalized service and support to international students from around the world. Your experience here will leave you feeling challenged, energized, and with memories to cherish for a lifetime.

Mr. Greg Kochanuk, District Principal, International Student Program
