What students say about the Comox Valley International Student Program
I am rodrigo from Mexico. I really like sports, so my favourite class is Physical Education (P.E.). What I really like here in Comox Valley is that you get to choose what subjects you want to take. In Mexico we don’t get to choose. The biggest difference between my home in Mexico and Canada is that in Mexico I live in a big city, it is much calmer here.
I have been at Isfeld for two years and am graduating this summer. I love sports, and I was happy to be part of the school’s basketball team. With the team I got to travel a lot, which I also really enjoyed. I loved my Active Lifestyles class, where we did fieldtrips every week. I made lots of new friends from many countries while doing lots of exciting activities. For example, highropes and camp fire, at orientation camp on Hornby Island!
I think the biggest difference between Finland and Comox Valley is that here people are a lot friendlier and politer than back home. My favourite activity with the Comox Valley International Student Program was the whale watching trip. I enjoyed seeing the wildlife and getting to know the other international students. Active Lifestyles for girls, where we did many exciting activities, like skating, cross-fit training and dragon boating, was one of my favourite classes. I will go home with many unforgettable memories and lots of new friends.
My favourite subject is definitely the hockey academy. I always wanted to play hockey and I finally got the chance in the Comox Valley. I even got school credit for it!
I really like the fact that you can choose your subjects and direct your own learning. I have made many really good friends here; especially Canadians. They have taught me so much about Canada. The Comox Valley has the most peaceful climate and weather that I have every lived in.
I am Victoria and I come from Hong Kong. I like creative writing class where I can crate my own stories. The people here care about you and so do the teachers. Compared to Hong Kong, it is less crowded in the Comox Valley. In general, people are really nice. My favourite trip was surfing in Tofino with the Comox Valley International Student Program and my typical Canadian activity is watching ice hockey.
